“I chose to do the Knockout Health challenge because I was diagnosed with diabetes last year. I never thought at 24 years of age I would be on medication for diabetes, it was a huge wakeup call that I had to start making changes. Since starting the challenge I gave up everything- sugar, junk food and everything that wasn’t good for me. It has changed my life a lot already; my sugar level and my blood pressure have both dropped.
I would definitely recommend this challenge, as I don’t think people realise how important being healthy is until you get something like diabetes.
I dropped a lot of weight the moment I cut out bread and soft drink, I just drink water now- I’ve made water my drink. I will definitely do the challenge next year as it’s improved my overall fitness and I enjoy the socialising with the community. I feel a lot better mentally, I don’t feel so stressed after work, I go home feeling really good.”
